HomeMy Public PortalAbout005-2020 - Appropriation - Amending Oridinance 40-2019 - RP&L OfficersAMENDED ORDINANCE NO. 5-2020 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.40-2019 KNOWN IN PART AS THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE FIXING THE ANNUAL COMPENSATION OF RICHMOND POWER AND LIGHT OFFICERS FOR 2020 WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-4-7-2 requires Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, to fix the annual compensation of all elected city officers by ordinance on or before December 31st; and WHEREAS, The compensation fixed herein may not be increased during the budget year for which it is fixed except for payments authorized in connection with the operation of municipally owned utilities as the same are amended as approved by Ordinance of the City, pursuant to Indiana Code 364-74; and WHEREAS, Common Council has previously adopted Ordinance 40-2019 to establish salaries for the year 2020 for the positions on the Richmond Power and Light Board and the City now finds it necessary to amend the salaries of the Richmond Power and Light Chairman and Members. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana that the following positions be compensated in accordance with IC 36-4-7-4 and not in excess of the respective sums hereafter set forth during the calendar year 2020, to wit: 2020 Bi-Weekly 2020 Annual Salary Salary Chairman of RP&L Members of RP&L Board (8) 6,800.00 6,800.00 In addition to the above mentioned salary, the Chair of the Board also shall receive an annual lump sum stipend in the amount of $300.00. In addition to the positions set forth above, the Mayor and the City Department Heads may, as needed, hire and . compensate part-time or temporary employees as permitted by their respective budgets. Compensation for these positions may range from $7.25 to $15.00 per hour. ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION In addition to the salaries set forth above, certain employees, excluding members of the Board of Works, the Aviation Board and the Park and Recreation Board, may be entitled to additional compensation, such, as overtime, compensation time, etc., and fiinge benefits as set forth within theCityof Richmond Personnel Policy or as stated in negotiated contracts.
