AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.41-2019 KNOWN AS
THE 2020 SALARY ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-4-7-3 requires the Mayor to fix the compensation of each appointive officer, deputy and
other employee of the city departments, except police officers and firefighters, prior to November 1st for the
ensuing budget year subject to the approval of Common Council; and
WHEREAS, Said statute allows the City Clerk to fix the compensation of the deputies and employees of the Clerk's office
prior to November 1st for the.ensuing budget year subject to the approval of Common Council; and
WHEREAS, The compensation fixed herein may not be increased during the budget year for which it is fixed but may be
reduced by the Mayor for each appointive officer, deputy and other employee of the city departments set
forth herein or by the City Clerk for employees of the Clerk's office; except by amendment approved by
Common Council; and
WHEREAS, Common Council has previously adopted Ordinance 41-2019 to establish salaries for the year 2020 and
now finds it necessary to amend the salaries as further set forth below.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana that the following
positions be compensated not in excess of the respective sums hereafter set forth during the calendar year 2020, to wit:

Bi-Weekly Hourly Salary
In addition to the positions set forth above, the Mayor and the City Department Heads may, as needed, hire and
compensate part-time or temporary employees as permitted by their respective budgets. Compensation for these positions may
range from $7.25 to $15.00 per hour. Due to the specialized training required, compensation for Certified Paramedics may range
range from $7.25 to $18.00 per hour.
ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION
In addition to the salaries set forth above, certain employees, excluding members of the Board of Works, the Aviation
Board and the Park and Recreation Board, may be entitled to additional compensation, such, as overtime, compensation time, etc.,
etc. and fringe benefits as/setorth wi� of Richmond Personnel Policy or as stated in negotiated contracts.
