HomeMy Public PortalAbout004-1998CITY OF RICHMOND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY RESOLUTION NO. 4 -1998 WHEREAS, the City of Richmond is currently involved in a r Project renovating uptown Richmond; and g p own WHEREAS, said project has included the revision of Chapter 74 of the City of Richmond Code as it relates to parking in the uptown area, specifically in both existing and newly constructed parking lots; and WHEREAS, in an effort to continuously improve the uptown area, the City of Richmond has continued to encourage and receive feedback regarding Parking issues in the uptown area; and WHEREAS, this feedback has been compiled and considered by the Off - Street P Committee which was established to explore the availability, costs, and ing time limits of available parking in the uptown; and WHEREAS, the Committee has recommended certain changes. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana that said Board recommends that the Common Cou the City of Richmond, Indiana amend Section 74.47(b) of the City cil of read as follows: of Richmond Co de to b• Pursuant to Indiana Code 36- 9 -11 -7, the Board has established the following charges for off street parking facilities which are approved by Common Council by Ordinance No. 34 -1998, which supercedes and replaces any previous resolutions or ordinance establishing said charges: 1. Downtown Parking Garage (a) First, second, and third hours provided free by contributions from downtown businesses. (b) Fourth hour $0.50. (c) Fifth and each subsequent continuous hour $1.00. (d) Monthly parking passes for "Reserved" section, $5.00. 2. Corner Lot at North 9` and North `C' Streets ( "Tice" Lot) (a) Public parking available without time limits subject to section 74.21. 3. South 9"' Street Lot (100 Block —"Harmon Glass" Lot) (a) Monthly parking pass for "Reserved" section, $10.00. (b) Three hour parking limit throughout the remainder of the facility. 4. South 9 " Street Lot ( "Leland" Lot) (a) Monthly parking pass for "Reserved" section, $15.00. (b) Three hours free parking provided by contributions from downtown businesses. 5. South 9"' Street Lot (`Bullerdick" Lot) (a) Three hours free parking provided by contributions from downtown businesses. (b) Monthly parking pass for "Reserved" section, $15.00. 6. North 10" Street Lot ( "GTE" Lot) (a) Monthly parking pass, $15.00. (b) Parking in these facilities by monthly parking pass only. 7. Corner Lot at North 10"' and East Main Streets ( "Kesslers" Lot) (a) Three hours free parking provided by contributions from downtown businesses. 8. North 7"' Street Lot ( "Bank One" Lot) (a) Three hours free parking provided by contributions from downtown businesses. (b) Fourth hours $0.50. (c) Fifth and each subsequent continuous hour $1.00. (d) Monthly parking pass, $20.00. 9. North 6' Street Lot ( "American Legion" Lot) (a) Parking available with monthly pass only. Monthly parking pass, $10.00. 10. South 6 Street Lot ( "Elder Beerman" Lot) (a) Three hours free parking provided by contributions from downtown businesses. (b) Monthly parking pass, $15.00. 11. South 5 Street Lot ( "FIND Center" Lot) (a) Three hour parking limit throughout the facility except for spaces reserved for FIND Center employees and invitees. 12. South G Street Lot ( "Color Box" Lot) (a) Public parking available without time limits subject to section 74.21. 13. South M Street Lot ( "Fire Station #4" Lot) (a) Public parking available without time limits subject to section 74.21. 14. Municipal Building Lot (a) Reserved parking for City, Township, County and State employees as designated by the Board of Public Works and Safety.
