HomeMy Public PortalAbout002-1999BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA RESOLUTION NO. 2-1999 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SALE OF CITY PROPERTY LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF NORTH 8 TH AND C STREETS WHEREAS, the City of Richmond owns certain property located at the corner of North 8 and North "C" Street, Richmond, Indiana, containing approximately 5,278 square feet (hereinafter referred to as the "Property "); and WHEREAS, the City is no longer in need of use or ownership of the Property; and WHEREAS, the highest and best use of the Property is sale to an abutting landowner and/or it is economically unjustifiable to sell the Property pursuant to I.C. 36- 1 -11 -4; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to dispose of the Property pursuant to I.C. 36- 1 -11 -5, which requires establishing an offering price equal to the appraised value of the Property (which has been appraised at $4,000.00); publishing a notice of the sale and offering price to invite any offers on the Property; and sending a copy of the notice to all adjoining property owners also inviting offers at least equal to the offering price. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public Works and Safety for the City of Richmond, Indiana, that the City dispose of the Property located at the southeast corner of North 8` and North C Street pursuant to I.C. 36- 1 -11 -5. Be it further resolved that the offering price for such Property be $4,000.00; that all offers will also be subject to the conditions that the property must be taken in its "as is" condition; that Buyer shall comply with all provision of the Richmond Zoning Ordinance and Richmond City Code; that Buyer shall assume the first installment of 1999 taxes for due and payable in May 2000 and thereafter; that the City will provide a warranty deed and title insurance in the amount of the purchase price to the successful buyer; that the City, as Seller, shall pay no commission upon any ultimate sale of the property; and that notice of such offering price and conditions be published and sent to any adjoining property owner pursuant to law.
