HomeMy Public PortalAbout002-2004 - Salaries for Police/Fire DepartmentBOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY RESOLUTION NO. 2 -2004 WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36- 8- 3 -3(d) requires Common Council to fix the annual compensation of all police officers and firefighters by ordinance before September 20 of each year for the ensuing budget year, and WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36- 8- 3 -3(d) also authorizes the Board of Public Works and Safety to fix the compensation of members of the Police and Fire Departments if the Common Council fails to do so, and NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Richmond Board of Works and Safety that the following positions be compensated not in excess of the respective sums hereafter set forth during calendar year 2004, to wit: Section 1 — Police Department Position Bi- Weekly Salary 1.01 Captain 1,642.96 1.02 Lieutenant 1,595.35 1.03 Sergeant 1,547.69 1.04 Investigator 1,476.27 1.05 Patrolman 1,319.12 1.06 Additional Compensation. In addition to the bi- weekly salaries set forth in Sections 1.01 through 1.05 above, all benefits agreed upon in the agreement dated November 20 between the Board of Public Works and Safety on behalf of the City of Richmond, Indiana and John Hennigar Lodge No. 63 of the Fraternal Order of Police are hereby incorporated by reference. Section 2 — Fire Department Position Bi- Weekly Salary 2.01 Inspector 1,536.04 2.02 Lieutenant 1,536.04 2.03 Engineer 1,473.08 2.04 Firefighter 1,404.85 2.05 Probationary Firefighter 1,248.41 2.07 Additional Compensation. In addition to the bi- weekly salaries set forth in Sections 2.01 through 2.05 above, all benefits agreed upon in the Professional Negotiation Agreement dated April 22, 2004 between the City of Richmond, Indiana and the Richmond Professional Firefighters, Inc. AFL -CIO Local 1408 are hereby incorporated by reference. THIS RESOLUTION IS ADOPTED THIS 0Z day of 1 9 2004.
