BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA
RESOLUTION NO. 9 -2006
A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE AUTHORIZED OFFICIAL OF The City
of Richmond TO SIGN EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT, HOMELAND
SECURITY, EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES, LAW ENFORCEMENT,
FIRE, HAZARDOUS MATERIALS, COMMUNICATIONS,
TRANSPORTATION, PUBLIC HEALTH, ANIMAL HEALTH, HUMAN
SUPPORT SERVICES, PUBLIC WORKS, PLANNING AND INFORMATION
SERVICES, RESOURCE SUPPORT AND SEARCH AND RESCUE "MUTUAL
AID INTERLOCAL COOPERATION AGREEMENTS" WITH OTHER LOCAL
POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS, PUBLIC AGENCIES AND /OR PRIVATE
ORGANIZATIONS IN THE COUNTY OF WAYNE IN THE STATE OF
INDIANA.
WHEREAS, the authorized official of the City of Richmond in the State Indiana desires to enter
into agreements whereby mutual emergency management, homeland security, emergency
medical services, law enforcement, fire, hazardous materials, communications,
transportation, public health, animal health, human support services, public works,
planning and information services, and search and rescue assistance may be provided by
various political subdivisions, public agencies and /or private organizations for the benefit
of each participating entity; and
WHEREAS, the statutes of the State of Indiana at Indiana Code 10- 14 -3 -16 authorize local
governments through their local Emergency Management Agencies to enter into such
agreements with other local (and state) government agencies, and
WHEREAS, agreements can be prepared which will provide for mutual aid protection
assistance among those local governments in Indiana with which the County of Wayne is
interested in entering into agreements for mutual aid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works and Safety of the City
of Richmond, Indiana that the Board of Public Works and Safety approves the Mutual Aid
Agreement to be entered into between the City of Richmond, Indiana, by and through its Board
of Public Works and Safety, and Wayne County Emergency Management Agency.
THIS RESOLUTION IS ADOPTED THIS 28TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 2006
