OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA
RESOLUTION NO. 13 -2007
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE CONTRACT FOR BOND COUNSEL
SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City is approaching the end of the fiscal year and the normal
distributions of revenue from property tax has not been received; and
WHEREAS, IC 36- 3 -4 -22, IC 36- 4 -5 -20 and IC 36- 5 -2 -12, allows the City to issue tax
anticipation time warrants to obtain money to meet immediate cash needs by borrowing
in anticipation of current revenues from taxes which have been levied, but have not been
collected; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond Finance and Legal departments have determined that
it would be in the best interest of the City to hire bond counsel to ensure that the issuance
of warrants occurs; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Peterson of Ice Miller LLP has been selected to provide bond
counsel services.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA that the engagement letter
for bond counsel services is hereby accepted, which designates Ice Miller LLP as Bond
Counsel advising the City of Richmond Finance Department, and that Tammy Glenn, as
the City Controller, be authorized to execute the engagement letter and any and all
documents associated with the issuance of warrants.
THIS RESOLUTION IS ADOPTED THIS 8 TH DAY OF NOVEMBER, 2007.
