HomeMy Public PortalAbout02-27-2020 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, FEBRUARY 27, 2020 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00.P.M., Thursday, February 27, 2020, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5`h Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson and Matt Evans. Absent was Emily Palmer. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels,Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns, Deputy City Clerk; Greg Stiens, Director of Public Works and Engineering; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Evans moved to approve the minutes of February 20, 2020, supported by Ms. Robinson.Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for February 28, 2020 in the amount of One Hundred Fifty Seven Thousand Two Hundred Eighty Three Dollars and thirty three cents ($157,283.33), supported Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Payroll Claims for Payment for February 28, 2020 in the amount of Seven Hundred Seventy Five Seventy Four Dollars and ninety seven cents ($775,074.97), supported Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Mr. Evans moved to approve a special check run in the amount of One Thousand Five Hundred Sixty Five Dollars and twenty eight cents ($1,565.28), supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION Mr. Evans moved to approve the Payroll Claims for Payment For Pension for February 28, 2020 in the amount of Two Hundred Eighty Thousand Five Hundred Ninety Nine Dollars and eighteen cents ($280,599.18), supported Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Board of Works Minutes February 27,2020 REQUESTS-None BID OPENINGS -None BID AWARDS—None CONTRACTS -None CHANGE ORDERS -None CHANGE ORDERS • CHANGE ORDER NO. 8 TO. CONTRACT NO. 148-2014 (R-37463) — INDOT COORDINATION AGREEMENT—BIKE PEDESTRIAN FACILITY For retro reflectivity testing on pavement markings per INDOT standard specification. Not to exceed an increased amount of$3,033.47 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CHANGE ORDER NO. 23 TO CONTRACT NO. 148-2014 (R-37463) — INDOT COORDINATION AGREEMENT—BIKE PEDESTRIAN FACILITY This change order accounts for the overrun of common excavation and the underrun of pavement removal quantities as encountered during construction. Not to exceed an increased amount of$53,128.33 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CHANGE ORDER NO. 25 TO CONTRACT NO. 148-2014 (R-37463) —INDOT COORDINATION AGREEMENT—BIKE PEDESTRIAN FACILITY This change order addresses the substitution of mulched seeding for sod. This is a decreased amount of$2,155.25 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the • motion carried. ADDENDUMS -None RESOLUTIONS • RESOLUTION NO. 2-2020- TO PURCHASE REAL ESTATE Board of Works Minutes February 27, 2020 To acquire a certain property for the Wayne County Heritage Trail Project from the Society for Preservation and Use of Resources (SPUR) Not to exceed $1.00 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PETITIONS -None MISCELLANEOUS • MIDDLEFORK RESERVOIR SIGN IN RIGHT-OF-WAY Requesting approval to place a ground sign in the right-of-way on Reid Pkwy. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Robinson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried.
