Intermediate. Toe number of school pupils is bound to in-
crease for another year — probably the enrolment will be
over 70.
Mr. Kingsley suggests a new six -year High school build-
ing. A building ten years from now will not help your boys
and girls of today. Time will not wait nor will it turn back.
The crying need is do something gaow.
The Music and Drawing courses still remain in good hands.
Can any one, who attends the Christmas exercises of our
schools, but feel that excellent instruction is given in music
in the schools?
Some of the things desirable in tlue near future and in
which all citizens should be interested are —motor vehicle
transportation; one more teacher for regular High school
work; a special teacher of Practical Arts who shall give near-
ly all his time to the work; the establishment of a Home,
Economics department; the extension of all Practical Arts
courses into the High school; the proper housing of the
hunch business; an extension of the Business course; a County
Agricultural school for Orleans boys who wish such training;
and last, but that of the fret importance, and before much
of the foregoing can be put into operation, a new building
or an addition to the present one.
The Principal's report follows
of interest concerni , in which you will find mile],
ng the work and the High school corps of
teachers. The Usual reports and statistics and other data
also follow.

The pupils are all well supplied with up to date and at-
tractive text books. Standard reference books are being
gradually acquired and subscriptions to several good peri-
odicals serve to arouse interest . in present day affairs.
The athletic activities of the school are confined chiefly
to base ball in the Spring term. The substantial recognition
given to this sport last year by the-school committee gave
the game new importance in the minds of the players and
was beneficial both from a financial and from a moral
standpoint.
The continued success of the school lunch system and its
'very liberal patronage by pupils of all the grades have now
made this department an almost indispensable feature of our
school system. The general increase in cost of all supplies
has made it necessary this fall to raise the prices charged
for some articles. The surplus of last winter was reduced to
about $3.00 in June. At present there is a balance of ap-
proximately $20.00 on the right side of the ledger. The
sales for the fall term have averaged $55.00 per week.
tion and in September more thalo e six will e fro by ra ua
grammar schools. the
This will raise the membership next fall to well above 70
and will serve to still further emphasize the present need of
better and larger accommodations. To keep abreast of the
times, to preserve the standing and efficiency of the school
and, most important of all, to meet the needs of the
Pupils, provision should be made whereby the recolwnenda-
be P made by Mr alingsley in last. year's school report may
be put into Practical operation.
