ORDINANCE NO. 17-2020
AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE
SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT
FROM THE INDIANA AMERICAN ENVIRONMENTAL GRANT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute
any documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal
government or any other source, and said documents are prepared and executed
by the City executive administration, provided that the Common Council of the
City of Richmond as the legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for
the appropriation of any monies received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and
WHEREAS, The Indiana American Water Company has grant funding available through its
2020 Environmental Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Sanitary Department (through its Pretreatment Program)
desires to submit a grant application to obtain funds that will be used to procure
various water quality measuring devices, which equipment may include, but
shall not be limited to, Automated Sampling Equipment and rechargeable
batteries, Flow Meter devices, Laboratory Diagnostic Equipment including
associated disposable supplies and associated training; and
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond, Indiana, in accordance with IC 36-14-10, has submitted or
will submit a grant application to the Indiana American Environmental Grant Program for the
2020 program year (May 1, 2020 through November 30, 2020.)
2. The City of Richmond through its Sanitary Department, is authorized to accept said
grant funding in an amount of up to Ten Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($10,000.00).
3. Said.grant funding shall be used to procure various items of sampling and diagnostic
equipment supplies, and associated training for the City of Richmond, Indiana.
