IDLLSBOROUGH TOWN BOARD
Monday, November 27,2000
7:30 PM, Town Barn
The Hillsborough Town Board held a Work Session on November 27, 2000 at 7:30 PM in the
Hillsborough Town Barn. Present for the Board Meeting were Mayor Horace H. Johnson, Sr.,
Commissioners Frances Dancy, Evelyn Lloyd, Mark Sheridan, and Brian Lowen. Absent was
Commissioner Kenneth Chavious. Staff present was Town Manager Eric Peterson.
Mayor Horace H. Johnson, Sr. called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM.
Mayor Johnson added a discussion of the proposed Adequate Facilities Plan. After some
discussion and by consent, the Board agreed that they would need to review this Plan and
consider it at their upcoming meeting.
Town Manager Eric Peterson reported that the street repaving bids would be brought to the
Board for their consideration at their December meeting due to the fact that there were
insufficient bids at the first bid opening.
Town Manager Eric Peterson led a discussion on the CATV Proposed Franchise.
Upon a motion by Commissioner Lowen, seconded by Commissioner Dancy, the Board moved
to go into Closed Session for the purpose of conducting the Town Manager's performance
evaluation by a vote of 4-0. The motion was declared passed.
Upon returning to Open Session, and upon a motion by Commissioner Lloyd, seconded by
Commissioner Dancy, the Board moved to authorize a 6% Merit Increase for Town Manager
Eric Peterson which would be retroactive to his annual evaluation date of September 11, 2000 by
a vote of 4-0. The motion was declared passed.
Upon a motion by Commissioner Lowen, seconded by Commissioner Lloyd, the Board moved to
adjourn by a vote of 4-0. The motion was declared passed.
