February 2020
UPGreetings! Although winter may seem cold and dreary, there is warmth and fun
happening at the Watertown Senior Center and we encourage you to join us! Friday's
40 Chair Volleyball Team has been meeting for a few months now and invites new
players each week. Come in from the cold, grab a chair and enjoy the music, laughs
and even a little exercise with this spirited group, or join in any of the exercise classes
to help keep your heart healthy!
This month, we will also be hosting a Senior CharlieCard Day, a theatrical event by
Delvena Theatre Company, researchers from UMass presenting about senior
children and parents aging together, and a new Readers' Circle partnership with the
Wartertown Free Public Library. The tax preparers from AARP will also be taking
appointments to help seniors with their taxes. These dates fill quickly, so call today.
For those who like to travel, our Spring trips will be posted soon, and the Senior
Shuttle be taking a trip to Market Basket in Waltham on February 20 and a lunch at
Ken s Steakhouse and shopping excursion on February 27.
We look forward to seeing you this month. Please don't forget to sign in to a class or
program or shuttle bus ride with your My Senior Center Keytag. This helps to keep
us informed on how best to serve you. Rae, Margie or the shuttle drivers Jim or Bob
will make sure to remind you. Thank you for your cooperation.
With thanks to all of the volunteers who help us every day here and at the
Watertown Food Pantry. You make our hearts happy!
The Board meets the 2nd
Wednesday of the month at`
4:00 PM at the Senior Center.

Persuasion is the last novel fully completed by
Jane Austen. It was published at the end of 1817,
six months after her death. The novel was well -
received in the early 19th century. Greater fame
came later in the century, continued in the 20th
century, and through to the 21st century.
As Persuasion is Austen's last completed novel, it is accepted
as her most maturely written novel showing a refinement of
literary conception indicative of a woman approaching forty
years of age.

What to Do At
Single Biggest Ir
For most people, their largest investment is purchasing a house. What if it no longer meets your
needs? Children have moved out. You and your spouse are perhaps considering a time when one of
you has become ill or passed on. Cleaning all those rooms, walking up and down stairs, and doing
yard work is troublesome. Perhaps health concerns are a factor. Is it time to downsize?
Because its so important and the potential expensive problems so significant, many people
request help from experienced elder law attorneys for their tax saving, estate, asset protection
and life planning concerns. Are you concerned that financial gains from the sale of your home may
be tax free, however the proceeds will remain attachable by the State in event of a future nursing
home stay? Many seniors and those who love them learn, plan and act to protect their home,
spouse, family and life savings.
Homes, automobiles, antique collections, above nominal amounts must be sold to pay these bills.
An Elder Law attorney can help you with the right strategy to protect you, your spouse, home, family
and life savings. Did you realize studies show that 86% of trust and estate plans are outdated?
