HomeMy Public PortalAbout05-07-2020 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MAY 7,2020 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, May 7, 2020, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson, Emily Palmer and Matt Evans. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels,Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns, Deputy City Clerk; Lieutenant Donnie Benedict; Derek Hill, Director of Code Enforcement; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ms.Palmer moved to approve the minutes of April 30,2020, supported by Mr.Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for May 8, 2020 in the amount of Two Hundred Twelve Thousand Four Hundred Sixty Seven Dollars and thirty seven cents ($212,467.37), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Payroll Claims for Payment for May 8., 2020 in the amount of Seven Hundred Twenty Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety Five Dollars and eighty five cents ($720,795.85), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. • STREET CLOSURES Richmond Farmers Market They are requesting to close the North Service Drive between North 6th Street and North 7th Street on Saturdays from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the months of May, June, July, August, September, and October for Farmers Market vendors to set up and sell their goods. Mr. Evans moved to approve contingent on the City's ability to allow during the Pandemic, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. They are also requesting to close the North Service Drive between North 6th Street and North 7th Street on Tuesdays from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the months of July, August, and September for Farmers Market vendors to set up and sell their goods. Mr. Evans moved to approve contingent on the City's ability to allow during the Pandemic, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. BID OPENINGS • HERITAGE TRAIL There were no Bids. • LEASE BIDS FOR STRUCTURE LOCATED AT 1501 NW 5TH STREET There was one bid submitted from Reid Health& Hospital Care Services. $750.00 a month rent or $1000.00 a month rent for an extended term. This bid was taken under advisement. BID AWARDS -None CONTRACTS -None CHANGE ORDERS -None 1 Board of Works Minutes May 7,2020 ADDENDUMS • ADDENDUM NO. 1 TO CONTRACT NO. 34-2020 — REDDOG ENTERPRISES, INC This Contractor provides mowing services for the City-owned right-of-way properties. This amendment is for an additional 17 properties that was not included in the list at the time of the bid. An additional amount of$20,310.00 Ms. Palmer moved to approve contingent on updating the Wolverine property to also include known as the former Dana property, noted by the Law Department, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. RESOLUTIONS -None PETITIONS -None • CURB CUT 1340 Clear Creek Ln.to become 1337 Clear Creek W Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer.
