HomeMy Public PortalAbout037-2020 - Grant - US Dept Dept of Health and Human Services - CARES - Covid lost revenues - AprilCOMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA ORDINANCE NO. 37-2020 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE US DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute any documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any other source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of Richmond as the legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and WHEREAS, The United States Department of Health and Human Services has grant funding available through the Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act ("CARES") Provider Relief Fund and Rural Provider Relief Fund to assist with funding to be used to reimburse the Richmond Fire Department for lost revenue attributed to the COVID-19 virus during the month of April, 2020; and WHEREAS, The City of Richmond desires to submit a grant application to obtain funding for applicable reimbursement to the Richmond Fire Department in connection with the same; and WHEREAS, No local match is required. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: 1. The City of Richmond, in accordance with IC 36-1-4-10, has submitted or will submit a grant application to the United States Department of Health and Human Services to assist with funding to be used by the Richmond Fire Department to reimburse the Richmond Fire Department for lost revenue attributed to the COVID-19 virus during the month of April, 2020. 2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to Ten Thousand Fifty-eight Dollars and Zero Cents ($10,058.00). Pagel of 2 3. All grant funding, if awarded to the City of Richmond, shall be appropriated to assist with funding to be used by the Richmond Fire Department to reimburse the Richmond Fire Department for lost revenue attributed to the COVID-19 virus during the month of April, 2020.
