AWARDING BID FOR THE ?MINUS STREET / ROOSEVELT AVENUE
INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Borough has publicly advertised for the receipt of bids for the Minue
Street / Roosevelt Avenue Intersection Improvements Project; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has solicited and received six (6) bid proposals for the Minue
Street / Roosevelt Avenue Intersection Improvements Project as follows:
WHEREAS, Lucas Brothers, Inc. has submitted the lowest bid for said contract as evidenced by
the response on file with the Borough's Purchasing Department and with the Borough Engineer;
and
WHEREAS, the Borough Engineer has reviewed the above bid proposals and has recommended
the award of a contract to Lucas Brothers, Inc, in a total amount not to exceed S2,564,744.00;
and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available for said
purpose.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret as follows:
1. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby authorized to enter into a
contract with Lucas Brothers, Inc, of Morganville, N.J. for the Project for
the sum of $2,564,744.00 in accordance in all respects with the request for
proposals and bid on same.
2. That a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Borough's
Purchasing Department and Borough Engineer.
3. That the aforementioned award of bid is contingent upon formal approval
from the New Jersey Department of Labor, Division of Wage and Hour
Compliance.
Adopted this 4 day of December, 2014
and certified as, a true copy of the
original on December 5, 2014.
