RESOLUTION NO.3-2020
JOINT RESOLUTION SETTING THE HOUR OF THE REGULAR MEETINGS
WHEREAS,The Richmond City Code authorizes the hour of the regular meetings of the Richmond Common Council (“Common Council”) to be set by said Common Council; and
WHEREAS,The Board of Directors of Richmond Power and Light (“RP&L Board”) operates as the managing board of the electric utility which is under the power and authority of the Common
Council; and
WHEREAS,The spirit of the Indiana Open Door Law would permit the hours of the meetings set to be scheduledat times reasonable to permit attendance by the public and the media; and
WHEREAS,The Common Council and the RP&L Board want to modify the hours scheduled for the meetings and want to reduce the frequency of the regular meetings of the RP&L Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that the regular meetings of the Common Council shall be moved to 7:00 p.m. on the days of the
regular meetings.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it also resolved by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, and be it resolved by the Board of Directors of Richmond Power and Light that the RP&L Board
meetings shall be reduced in frequency and held only on the first/third Monday of each month except when such Monday is a City Holiday, in which case said RP&L Board meeting shall be
held on the Tuesday following, and said RP&L Board meeting shall be held after a short recessimmediately following the regular meeting of the Common Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, and be it resolved by the Board of Directors of Richmond Power and Light that upon passage of this
Resolution, the City Clerk shall provide notice to the media and all interested persons in accordance with the Indiana Open Door Law of the change authorized by this Resolution.All of
