HomeMy Public PortalAbout08-06-2020 • THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND,INDIANA, AUGUST 6,2020 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday,August 6,2020,in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER Ms. Palmer called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Emily Palmer and Matt Evans. Absent was Vicki Robinson. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels,Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns, Deputy City Clerk; Lieutenant Donnie Benedict; Fire Chief Jerry Purcell; Greg Stiens, Director of Public Works and Engineering; Derek Hill, Director of Code Enforcement; Bill Henry, Code Enforcement; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Evans moved to approve the minutes of July 30, 2020, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for July 31, 2020 in the amount of One Hundred Thirty Four Thousand Eight Hundred Twenty Dollars and eighty one cents ($134,820.81), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for August 6, 2020 in the amount of Ninety Three Thousand Five Hundred Forty Seven Dollars and forty six cents ($93,547.46),supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT -None PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION-None REQUESTS • NEW HANDICAP SIGNS 1440 S 4th St f Board of Works Minutes August 6,2020 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed. 1320 Boyer St Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. • STREET CLOSURES Depot District Assoc. OktoberFest Saturday September 26, 2020 starting at 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. They are requesting the following streets closed for vendor spaces: North 8th Street from North"C"to North"E" Streets Elm Place from North 8th Street to under the bridge extending to North 10th Street North"C" Street from North 8th Street to North 7th Street. The Health Department won't approve any events that might involve a large attendance more than two weeks in advance. Mr. Evans moved to table this request until it has been approved by the Health Department, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. DREW CORPORATION They are to perform services in connection with the furnishing and installation of pedestrian signalization equipment and timing of signal heads at Fort Wayne Avenue, North 7111 Street and North"D" Street, for the City of Richmond. Not to exceed$59,175.00 . Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS -None ADDENDUMS Board of Works Minutes August 6,2020 • ADDENDUN NO. 1 TO CONTRACT NO. 83-2020 — MIKESELL EXCAVATING, INC This addendum increases the scope of the project to include the garage structure that is located on the property the contract is for. Not to exceed $1,500.00 Mr.Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. MISCELLANEOUS • FIREFIGHER RESIGNATION Mr. Evans moved to accept the tendered resignation submitted by Firefighter Misti E. Minor effective immediately, supported by Ms. Palmer.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried.
