HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-29-2012THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, MARCH 29, 2012 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, March 29, 2012, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. In attendance were Board Members Vicki Robinson and Dian Lawson. Tony Foster was absent. Also attending were Assistant City Attorney Kim Vessels and Director of Human Resources and Compliance Sue Roberson The following business was conducted: CALL TO ORDER Robinson called the meeting to order and noted for the minutes that two board members and legal counsel were present. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Robinson made a request to the board to approve the minutes for the March 22, 2012 meeting. Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Robinson. The motion was unanimously passed. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Robinson made a request to the board to approve the claims for payment for March 30, 2012 in the amount of $225,523.97. She explained of that total: • $45,050.00 was paid to Studebaker Buick for three (3) vehicles for the Police Department • $30,000.00 was paid to Wayne County Information Systems for the Interlocal GIS agreement. • $102,672.85 was paid to Thor Construction for NSP Rehab Contract Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Robinson. The motion was unanimously passed. CONTRACTS A. Robinson brought to the board a request that was presented by Director of Human Resources and Compliance Sue Roberson to approve Contract No. 42 -2012 with Employers Security Insurance Company who is the current vendor for the City's Board of Works Minutes March 29, 2012 Page 2 of 2 Worker's Compensation Insurance. She explained that this is a month to month renewal in the amount of $11,103.00 per month until RFPs for Worker's Compensation Insurance is brought to the Board at a later date. Lawson made a motion to approve with a second by Robinson. The motion was unanimously passed. Lawson made a motion to allow Director of Human Resources and Compliance Sue Roberson to sign the contract with a second by Robinson. The motion was unanimously passed. BID AWARDS A. Robinson made a request to the board to award a bid that was submitted by Director of Metropolitan Development Tony Foster for the demolition of structures at two (2) addresses to Mike Delucio and Son. Those bids are as follow: 1. 318 North 9th Street - $5,800.00 2. 320 North 9t11 Street - $5,833.00 Lawson moved to award with a second by Robinson. The motion unanimously passed. BID OPENINGS A. Robinson brought to the board a bid opening for door installation and block repair at the Richmond Street Department. Those bids are as follows: 1. Beard Masonry - $3,300.00 2. Construction Resources - $3,993.05 3. Smarrelli - $3,679.00 — Voluntary Alternate - $950.00 Robinson then told the board that these bids would be taken under advisement. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, on a motion duly made, seconded and passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned.
