Kyle Hinkle , Executive Director Clare O ' Connor Rice , Volunteer Brewster Chamber of Commerce , Inc . (Two Attachments) Narrative and map Eco tourism needs cultural assets to compliment (e . g . inns with long history) this was part of the visioning plan for the town of Brewster . • At the point where we need to make movement ahead . Cultural district is supported by MCC to support different organizations and businesses that support and promote culture . At one point there was state funding but that has been removed . Raised the visibility within the local and state organizations for Brewster . • Most of the other cultural districts have maps that show a walkable area , used to be required that it be walkable , that has changed as well . For example the entire town of Orleans is a cultural district . This increases the connections between the cultural assets and institutions . Map shows that there is a reason to come to Brewster . There are 33 galleries in 6A alone from Orleans to Dennis . Clare asked us for " a little money" from BCC to create the map . Three fold map 8 . 5x14 for $ 375 we can get 2 , 500 maps . Kyle has a graphic artist who has a map that could be used , she would charge $ 1 , 000 + to do the work . Kyle says it is her goal to make the entire town of Brewster a cultural district . • Including B & B it is a little trickier to get the connection but if the Brewster Historical Society is involved it might work . Question about the eco -friendly part of driving around is not good and we do not have a place for people to park and walk . Purpose is to promote Brewster and what we have in Brewster and the businesses would have been a practice to kick in money like $25 . Question is should they make an application by November 16th . Ask if we are receptive at all . • Rog will investigate to make sure they fit with our criteria . I Discussion : Does it fit our criteria or does MCC nuke it permissiblethis fune it . It includes cultural Brewster in Bloom is a Chamber of Commerce institutions and assets not events . Can we give money to the Chamber of Commerce , is it the right fit in terms of the institution of Ia reprint , Also Does the map need to be updated ?
