HomeMy Public PortalAboutMission Statement RICHMOND SANITARY DISTRICT MISSION STATEMENT It is the mission of the Richmond Sanitary District to reduce pollution and safeguard the public health by providing cost effective services and educating the public to reduce, reuse and recycle the community’s waste in conformance with local, state and federal statutes. These services will result in a constantly improving environmental quality of life throughout the District and adjoining communities. Richmond Sanitary District Goals We are committed to establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with all Richmond Sanitary District employees, citizens and outside companies. We consider each individual as a vital part of the Richmond Sanitary District and each person will be treated with equal respect. The Sanitary District will be dedicated to service based on integrity and fair dealing, and committed to the highest level of conduct in all our operations. The attitude of all our employees will be to treat our customers with enthusiastic concern, respect and courtesy. We will be accessible: To the extent possible, Richmond Sanitary District staff will be available twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. We will respond to questions, requests and concerns in a timely manner. We will uphold the City's vision and values to provide local government services that are inclusive, responsive, cost effective and innovative. We will aim to do business with companies whose policies support the values of the Richmond Sanitary District and the City of Richmond, Indiana. When we are aware of discrimination or conflicting values, we will address the problem or explore new companies consistent with our values. We will also seek opportunities to educate by sharing our mission and values. Within the District, we will treat each other fairly, with respect, and help raise each others self-esteem. We will work to communicate openly and to create a supportive working environment. We will use our time and resources in a manner that is both effective and efficient. We will build effective teams and network with our employees, our suppliers, and sister agencies and will value creativity and the courage to change, rewarding and encouraging high expectations, ambitious goals, and superior performance.
