HomeMy Public PortalAbout10-01-2020 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, OCTOBER 1, 2020 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, October 1, 2020, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson, Emily Palmer and Matt Evans. • Also in attendance were Kim Vessels,Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns,Deputy City Clerk; Derek Hill, Director of Code Enforcement; Bill Henry, Code Enforcement; Greg Stiens, Director of Public Works and Engineering; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ms. Palmer moved to approve the minutes of September 24, 2020, supported by Mr. Evans. Upori a vote viva voce, the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for October 2, 2020 in the amount of One Hundred Fifty Thousand Three Hundred Ten Dollars and ninety five cents ($150,310.95), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT -None PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION-None REQUESTS -None BID OPENINGS • EMERGENCY MEDICAL AMBULANCE Those bids are as follows: Braun- $184,931.00 Fire Service - $188,066.00 • Board of Works Minutes October 2,2020 These bids were taken under advisement. BID AWARDS • MIKESELL EXCAVATING, INC This is for the demolition of the following properties: 1) 2014 North C Street House and outbuilding 2) 230 North 21st Street Garage 3) 310 North 18th Street Garage 4) 429 South 15th Street Garage 5) 812 South 12th Street Garage 6) 727 South 10th Street Garage 7) 1000 South 7th Street Garage, rear stairs and deck. 8) 1229 South 5th Street Garage 9) 409 Randolph Street Garage 10)415 Russell Street House and outbuilding Not to exceed $28,300.00 Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CONTRACTS • CONTRACT NO. 117-2020 — LARKIN GREENEWOOD FORD DB/A ADVANTAGE FORD This is for the purchase of two 2020 Ford Fusion cars for the Department of Code Enforcement. Not to exceed $37,817.12 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • • CONTRACT NO. 119-2020—MIKESELL EXCAVATING,INC For the emergency demolition of a garage located at 420 North 21st Street. Not to exceed $1,600.00. Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 120-2020—POINT & PAY, LLC Board of Works Minutes . October 2,2020 They will provide professional and other services to furnish,provide, and implement an e- services invoicing integration method to be connected to the City's current project management and data conversion BSA Modules. The fee will be paid by the user of a flat fee of$3.00 to process electronic checks and a.03%fee($2.00 minimum)to process credit or debit transactions. Mr.Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS • CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO CONTRACT NO. 96-2020 - JAMES H. DREW CORPORATION This is for the Pedestrian Signalization Project at the intersection of Ft Wayne Avenue, North 7th &North"D" Streets with a deduction amount of$10,487.00 Ms.Palmer moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. ADDENDUMS -None RESOLUTIONS -None PETITIONS • Curb Cut 2259 Charleston Place Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried.
