A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE AN
AGREEMENT WITH HSA FOR A CONTRACT VALUE AMOUNT THAT DOES NOT
EXCEED $97,960 FOR FISCAL YEAR 2012 -2013, RENEWABLE ANNUALLY
THROUGH FISCAL YEAR 2015 -2016, PROVIDED THAT APPROVAL OF CITY
ATTORNEY IS OBTAINED AS TO FORM PRIOR TO CONTRACT EXECUTION
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood desires to continue to offer a Senior Nutrition
Meals Program to senior citizens sixty (60) years of age and older at the senior center
and to many of Lynwood's at -risk seniors throughout the Lynwood service area; and
WHEREAS, invitations to submit proposals were mailed to seven (7) food
management companies that are on the County- approved list; and
WHEREAS, one vendor responded, Human Services Association; and
WHEREAS, Contractor holds itself out as capable and competent to provide hot
and cold lunches to the senior center and to clients in the service area as required by
the City; and
WHEREAS, the transfer of funds in the amount of $3,490 are necessary to cover
the cost of new the agreement for the senior nutrition meals program;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council award a contract to HSA to provide meals for
the senior nutrition meals program for a four -year contract term commencing October
3, 2012, valued at a total not -to- exceed $24,490 per year; and
Section 2. That the Mayor is authorized to execute a contract on behalf
of the City Council in full conformity with all the terms and conditions outlined in the RFP
and in a form acceptable by the City Attorney.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 2 day of October, 2012.
