HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrdinance 2479CHAPTER 1 ORDINANCE N0.2479 ARTICLE 4 SEC. 4-28: AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PERSONAL PROPERTY WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least three-fourths of the corporate authorities of the Village of Plainfield, it is no longer necessary to useful to or for the best interests of the Village of Plainfield, to retain ownership of the personal property hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Plainfield to sell said personal property at the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference public auction to be held on Saturday, June 11, 2005. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD: SECTION ONE: Pursuant to Section 5/11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, 65 ILCS, Section 5/11-76-4, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Plainfield find that the following described personal property: VIN # YEAFt/M~.1KF/MODEL MILEAGE MINIMUM PRICE 1 GCDC 14H8ME 191299 1991 Chevy 1 S00 116,616 $100.00 1GCDC1425RZ251967 1994 Chevy 1500 92,272 $100.00 1G4AGSSM1S6472955 1995 Buick Century 85,094 $100.00 1FTDF15Y6SLBS9109 1995 Ford F150 101,000 $100.00 1FTDF1727VKC90746 1997 Ford F150 83,956 $100.00 2FAFP7IWOWX178315 1998 Fard Crown Vic 94,847 $100.00 now owned by the Village of Plainfield, is na longer necessary or useful to the Village of Plainfield and the best interests of the Village of Plainfield will be served by its sale. SECTION TWO: Pursuant to said Section 5/11-76-4, the Village Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to sell the above-listed vehicle now owned by the Village of Plainfield at the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference public auction, on Saturday, June 11, 2005, at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, to the highest bidder on said property. SECTION THREE: The Village Administrator is hereby authorized and may direct the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference to advertise the sale of the aforennentioned personal property in a newspaper published within the community before the date of said public auction. SECTION FOUR: Na bid which is less than the minimum price set forth in the list of property to be sold shall be accepted except as authorized by the Village Administrator or his agent. SECTION FIVE: The Village Administrator is hereby authorized and may direct the DuPage Mayors and Managers Conference to enter into an agreement for the sale of said personal property. The Conference will charge an administrative fee, which will come aut of the proceeds from the sale of surplus vehicles and equipment. SECTION SIX: Upon payment of the full auction price, the Village Administrator is hereby authorized and directed to convey and transfer title to the aforesaid personal property to the successful bidder. SECTION SEVEN: This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and after its passage, by a vote of at least three-fourths of the corporate authorities, and approval in the manner provided by law.
