HomeMy Public PortalAboutMinutes - 8/25/1969The Wellsburg Town Council met in special session on August 25, 1969 with Mayor Riekena presiding and all councilmen present. On a motion by Claassen and seconded by Van Deest the council agreed to buy a model W-2W Midland suction pump from the Campbell Supply Co. of Iowa Falls, Iowa. The Town Clerk was instructed to place twonotic�� the Wellsburg Herald, one notifing all residents to remove all down spouts from the sanitary sewer by September 15� and one to remind residents that a permit must be obtained from the town clerk before connecting to the water & sewer mains as per ordinances 64.19, 61.7 and 64.7 respectively in the Municipal Code of the Town of Wellsburg. The minutes of the August meeting were read and approved on a motion by Freese and a second by Eckhoff. On a motion by Huisman, seconded by Freese, the treasurer's report was accepted as read. Following a motion by Eckhoff, seconded by Claassen, the following bills were allowed for payment: Herman DeV�ies, salary $425.00 Aei1t Terfehn, salary 425.00 Henry J. Grobe, salary 100.00 � & H Skelly, gas, oil & supplies 65.51 Wellsburg Herald, printing 34.30 Clary Concrete Materials, asphalt 66.50 Ackley Quarries, rock 10.16 Peterson Contrgctors, Inc., 20' C.M.P. 32.00 Cordes Plbg., Htg., & Hdwe., water pipe, labor and supplies 547.29 United Telephone Co., toll calls 5.48 H. S. Ostlin Co., install man hole and replace sanitary sewer & sewer pipe 770.00 Iowa Electric Light & Power Co., heat, light and power 527.13 On a motion by �l�n Deest and seconded by Claassen, the council approved the beer and liquor application of Donald Ross doing bus- iness as The Pub. The clerk was instructed by the council to send,notices to Harm Aukes and Duane Greany to repair the sidewalks on their property within 20 days as per ordinance 51-8. The clerk was also instructed to send notices to all persons having delinquent water and sewer bills of necessary payment by September 22,
