ROADWAY RECONSTRUCTION
Downey Street, Kimball Road, Nichols Avenue, Frank Street, Louise Street
Resident and Abutters:
Your road has been selected for roadway improvements consisting of roadway reclamation and
repaving of the roadway, installation of granite curbing, and new concrete sidewalks, driveway
aprons, and accessible ramps.
Lowering of castings and roadway reclamation is scheduled to begin as noted below. Work will
be performed by our contractor, Onyx Corporation, with subcontractors Jimenez and Lazaro
Paving. All construction dates noted are weather permitting and subject to change.
Roadway reclamation is anticipated to take several days.
Lowering Castings (anticipated start dates):
Downey Street — Thursday August 27tn
Kimball Road — Thursday August 27tn
Nichols Avenue — Friday August 28tn
Frank Street — Tuesday September 1st
Louise Street — Tuesday September 1st
Reclamation (anticipated start dates):
Downey Street — Monday August 31st
Kimball Road — Tuesday September 1st
Nichols Avenue — Wednesday September 2nd
Frank Street — Thursday September 3rd
Louise Street — Thursday September 3rd
Note: Construction activities will not take place on Monday September 7rn
Reclamation is a process by which the existing road surface is ripped up and pulverized, leaving
several inches of ground up material that is then graded and compacted to form a new roadway
base. A binder (first) course asphalt pavement is then placed on top of the new roadway base.

Where necessary, 'No Parking' signs will be posted along the area selected for road work.
Please do not park your car in the posted area. The Watertown Police will be informed of the
construction and its effects. Typical hours of construction work are from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
We will provide updates as the various phases of work continue. General schedule updates are

All work will follow the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
