HomeMy Public PortalAbout068-2020 - Grant - Indiana Finance Authority - Covid Safety AwarenessA COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA ORDINANCE NO. 68-2020 AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE INDIANA FINANCE AUTHORITY WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute any documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any other source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of Richmond as the legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and WHEREAS, The Indiana Finance Authority has grant funding available through its Safety Awareness fund program established through the Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act ("CARES") to assist with funding to be used by the City of Richmond to financially support public awareness, education, and compliance in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic requirements initiated by the Indiana Governor's office; and WHEREAS, The City of Richmond desires to submit a grant application to obtain funding in connection with. public awareness, education, and compliance pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic requirements initiated by the Indiana Governor's office; and WHEREAS, No local match is required. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, as follows: 1. The City of Richmond, in accordance with IC 36-1-4-10, has submitted or will submit a_grant application to the Indiana Finance Authority to assist with funding to be used by the City of Richmond to support public awareness, education, and compliance in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic requirements initiated by the Indiana Governor's office. 2. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding from the Indiana Finance Authority in an amount of up to One Hundred Fourteen Thousand Six Hundred Ninety- nine Dollars and Zero Cents ($114,699.00). All grant funding, if awarded to the City of Richmond from the Indiana Finance Authority, shall be appropriated to support public awareness, education, and compliance in connection with the COVED-19 pandemic requirements initiated by the Indiana Governor's office.
