HomeMy Public PortalAbout01-14-2021 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, JANUARY 14,2021 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, January 14, 2020, in the Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5' Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson and Emily Palmer attending the meeting by zoom and Matt Evans attending in person. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels,Assistant City Attorney;Monica Burns,Deputy City Clerk; Fire Chief Jerry Purcell; Beth Fields, Director of Infrastructure and Development; Andrew Buckler, Fire Department; and, Media. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ms. Palmer moved to approve the minutes of January 7, 2021, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans to moved approve the Claims for Payment for January 15, 2021in the amount of Fifty Five Thousand Four Hundred Dollars and fifteen cents ($55,400.15) and to allow him to sign, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT -None PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION-None REQUESTS -None BID OPENINGS -None BID AWARDS—None CONTRACTS Board of Works Minutes January 14,2021 • CONTRACT NO. 1-2021 —.WEST COLLEGE CORNER VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT They have requested to purchase a 2002 Chevy Tahoe that is no longer in service from the Richmond Fire Department for an amount of$1.00. Ms.Palmer moved to approve, supported by Mr.Evans.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. • CONTRACT NO. 4-2021 —DYLAN SHIRKEY His services are needed for the replacement and programing of Network Switches,upgrade to Server Operating Systems and optional deployment of new secondary VM Host at disaster recovery site. He will be paid $100.00 an hour not to exceed $3,200.00. Mr.Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CHANGE ORDERS • CHANGE ORDER NO. 1-7 TO CONTRACT NO. 31-2020 — WHISENHUNT CONSTRUCTION, INC Because of unforeseen changes needed during the building of the new fire station there are several additions and deletions. The change order total is $5,209.00. This was tabled at the time • CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO CONTRACT NO. 103-2020 — BRUMBAUGH CONSTRUCTION Because of unforeseen changes needed during the building of the new training facility, there are several additions. The change order total is $18,053.45. This was tabled at the time. ADDENDUMS • ADDENDUM NO. 1 TO CONTRACT NO. 181-2019 — TESTING FOR PUBLIC SAFETY, LLC They provided consulting and testing services in connection with the 2021 firefighter application and hiring process for the Fire Department. The approximate cost is $1,500.00 to $3,000 annually depending on the number of applicants. Board of Works Minutes January 14, 2021 Ms. Palmer moved to approve,supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. • ADDENDUM NO. 1 TO CONTRACT NO. 30-2020 — TESTING FOR PUBLIC SAFETY, LLC They provide consulting and testing services in connection with the 2021 firefighter testing and promotion for the Fire Department. Anticipated not to exceed $6,500.00 unless there are more candidates participating in the testing process than expected. Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried.
