PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
ENGINEERING SERVICES
WHEREAS, there exists a need for professional services to perform engineering
services in connection with the Infiltration / Inflow Reduction Program and System
Rehabilitation including preliminary engineering, Hill Disthct Investigation,
NJDEP/CWF Planning Documents; and
WHEREAS, pusuant to N.J.S.A.40A:I 1-5 (1)(a) professional services are exempt
from the requirements of competitive bidding; and
WHEREAS, the Local Finance Officer has certified that funds are available.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Car~eret does hereby approve the appointment of Killam Associates at
a maximum cost not to exceed $55,000.00 for Preliminary Engineering, $20,000.00
for the Hill District Investigation and $45,000.00 for NJDEP/CWF Planning
Documents billable per attached contract.
BE 1T FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Borough Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute said contract.
1T IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the contract is awarded without competitive
bids in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-5(l)(a) due to the specialized nature of
the services provided.
1T IS FURTHER RESOLVED that a notice of this action shall be published in the
Home News Tribune on February 23, 1999.
