A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
ESTABLISHING THE LYNWOOD DISASTER RELIEF FUND AND OVERSIGHT •
COMMITTEE FOR'THE PURPOSE OF FUNDRAISING AND ALLOCATING FUNDS
TO SUPPORT LYNWOOD .RESIDENTS IN THE EVENT OF A LARGE SCALE
DISASTER OR EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the City Council approved the concept of establishing the Lynwood
Disaster Relief Fund to support essential services to Lynwood residents in the event of
a large scale disaster or emergency; and
WHEREAS, the Lynwood Disaster Relief Fund is intended to supplement major
disaster relief efforts from the Red Cross, FEMA and other established government
relief efforts.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Lynwood City Council establishes the Lynwood Disaster Relief
Fund.
'° Section 2. The initial oversight committee for the Lynwood Disaster Relief
Fund will consist of the five seated members of the Lynwood City Council.
Section 3. In addition to the five seated members of the Lynwood City Council,
non-voting, advisory members of the oversight committee shall be comprised of the
President of the Lynwood Block Watch, the St. Emydius Catholic Church Priest or his
designee, and the current Lynwood City Manager.
Section 4. That an independent, outside bank account be established and
controlled by the City and the oversight committee to keep funds supporting the
Lynwood Disaster Relief Fund.
Section 5. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 4th day of December, 2012.
