HomeMy Public PortalAboutOrdinance 1618ORDINANCE NO. ~ r,,Lg_^ CHAPTER 2.7 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS REGARDING DEVELOPMENT IN SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD AREAS NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, AS FOLLOWS: I. That Chapter 2.7, Section 2.7-Z, Definitions, of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Plainfield, Will County, Illinois regarding development in special flood hazard areas is hereby amended as follows: II. The definition of Floodplain is amended by deleting the third and fourth sentences in their entirety and inserting the following: The SFHA"s of the Village and of those parts of unincorporated Will County that are within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the Village, or that may be annexed into the Village are generally identified as such on the flood insurance rate map of Will County, Illinois and incorporated areas prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and dated September 6, 1995. III. The definition of Regulatory Floodway is amended by deleting the second and third sentences in their entirety and inserting the fallowing: The regulatory floodways are designated for the Du Page River, Lily Cache Creek, Springhole Creek, East Norman Drain and West Norman Drain on the flood boundary and floodway map prepared by FEMA and dated September 6, 1995. The regulatory floodways for those parts of the unincorporated county that are within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the village that may be annexed into the village are designated for the Du Page River, Lily Cache Creek, Springhole Creek, East Norman Drain and West Norman Drain on the flood boundary and floodway map prepared by FEMA and dated September 6, 1995. IV. The definition DWR. Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Water Resources is amended by deleting said definition in its entirety and inserting the following: OWR. Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Office of Water Resources. Said definition shall be substituted for any previous references to DWR in said Chapter 2.7. V. That Chapter 2.7, Section 2.7-5, Base flood elevation, of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Plainfield, Will County, Illinois is hereby amended by repealing paragraphs (1) and (2) in their entirety and inserting the following: (1) The base flood or one hundred-year frequency flood elevation for the SFHAs of Du Page River and Lily Cache Creek, Springhole Creek, East Norman Drain and West Norman Drain shall be as delineated on the one hundred-year flood profiles in the flood insurance study of the village prepared by FEMA and dated September 6, 1995, and such amendments to such study and maps as may be prepared from time to time. (2) The base flood or one hundred-year frequency flood elevation for the SFHAs of those parts of the unincorporated county that are within the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the village or that may be annexed into the village shall be as delineated on the one hundred-year flood profiles in the flood insurance study of the county prepared by FEMA and dated September 6, 1995, and such amendments or revisions to such study and maps as may be prepared, from time to time. VI. That Chapter 2.7, Section 2.7-8, Occupation and use of SFHA areas where floodways are not identified, of the Code of Ordinances of the Village of Plainfield, Will County, Illinois, paragraph (e) (1) d., is hereby amended by deleting the term "Illinois Division of Water Resources" and inserting "Office of Water Resources" and by deleting the term "Illinois Emergency Services Disaster Agency (ESDA)" and inserting "Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)". This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication as required by law.
