PUBLIC NOTICE
The city council of the city of Medi-
na has adopted Ordinance No. 414.
The ordinance amends the code
section regarding park dedication re-
quirements upon subdivision of land.
The ordinance provides that park
dedication requirements are based
on the buildable, not gross, land in
the subdivision; that the city must
give "due consideration" to the pri-
vate open space or recreational fa-
cilities provided in a subdivision
when deciding the park dedication
requirement; and that the city must
restrict the use of park dedication
funds to the acquisition and develop-
ment or improvement or redevelop-
ment of parks, recreational facilities,
playgrounds, trails, wetlands, or
open space. No park dedication fees
may be used for ongoing operation
or maintenance of these facilities.
Park dedication or cash in lieu may
only be collected for the net increase
in the number of lots in the case of
resubdivision of property for which a
park dedication was previously
made. A copy of the complete ordi-
nance is available from the city ad-
ministrator -clerk at Medina city hall.
