HomeMy Public PortalAbout03-04-2019 PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS FOR RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT MARCH 4, 2019 The Board of Directors for Richmond Power & Light Plant met in regular session at 7:00 p.m., March 4, 2019, in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Hollis presided. ROLL CALL: Board members present were Doug Goss, Bruce Wissel, J. Clayton Miller, Jeffrey Locke, Gary Turner, Misty Hollis, Jamie Lopeman and Ron Oler. Absent was Kelley Cruse Nicholson. Also present were: Randy Baker, General Manager; Tony Foster, Assistant General Manager; Andrew Sickmann, City Attorney; Karen Chasteen, City Clerk; Larry Parker; Media; and, Sergeant-at-Arms. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Board Member Turner moved to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting held February 19, 2019, supported by Board Member Oler. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. APPROVAL OF BILLS, INVESTMENTS AND TRANSFERS: Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, Board Member Locke moved to approve claims for payment in the amount of Eight Hundred Fourteen Thousand Eight Hundred Ten Dollars and twenty five cents ($814,810.25), supported by Board Member Miller. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: Board Member Miller moved to authorize the General Manager to receive bids for a 2019 compact excavator as previously approved in the budget. Department 2100, page 30, line 1. The trade in is a 2006 Bobcat. This motion was supported by Board Member Lopeman. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER: • Messrs. Baker and Foster plus Councilors Lopeman, Turner and Cruse-Nicholson attended the American Public Power Association Legislative Rally in Washington, D.C. • RE:APPA Legislative and Resolutions Committee Resolution No. 19-05—In Support of Controlling Transmission Cost Increases. RP&L is encouraging APPA to work with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to curb costs (demand charge).
