• 2020 Road Program & Common Street (Onyx Corporation)
o Contractor plans to remobilize week of April 19 to complete punch list items, curb and sidewalk
on Nichols Ave., and final paving of Wheeler Lane
• 20-01W Water Main Replacement (Commonwealth Construction)
o Final trench paving and sidewalk repairs (Essex St., Nash St., Pine St., and Oak St.) scheduled for
later in April
• 2021 Road Program (Lorusso Corporation)
o Contractor will begin mobilization, layout, and installing tree protection on Grandview Ave.,
Gertrude Street, Goldie Street, and Elmwood Ave.
• Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitations Contract 19-015 (Commonwealth Construction)
o Inland Waters will be cleaning and inspecting various sewers and drains on various streets
throughout Town. No interruption of water or sewer service is anticipated, however there may
be temporary road closures and/or parking restrictions.
• Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitations Contract 20-015 (Umbra & Sons Construction)
Insituform will be installing CIPP on the following streets:
o Franklin Street (Mt. Auburn Street to Center Street)
o Irving Street (Riverside Street to North Irving Park)
o Russell Avenue (Bellevue Road to Brigham Street)
o Sycamore Street (Belmont Street to Perry Street)
Note: If your home or business is connected to the sewer line being rehabilitated, your sewer
service will be temporarily blocked off from the sewer mainline once the liner is inflated.
During this time your water service is not shut off and you can continue using it for drinking, cooking
and other purposes, but residents are asked to limit water use. You should avoid taking showers or
baths, running your dishwasher and washing machine, and also be sure to turn off all sump pumps
connected to your sewer service. Flush your toilets sparingly. Using small amounts of water to wash
your hands or brush your teeth is okay. See website for additional information.
Umbro & Sons Construction will continue sewer and drain repairs on Robbins Road Extension.
2021 Sanitary Sewer Investigations (National Water Main)
o Contractor will be cleaning and inspecting various sewer lines within the project area. No
interruption of water or sewer service is anticipated, however there may be temporary road
closures and/or parking restrictions.
Highland Ave. Water Main Replacement —Lexington Street to Olney Street (Commonwealth
Construction)
o Contractor will continue to lay water main on Lexington Street
Pavement Preservation —Mill & Overlay (Lorusso Corporation)
o Contractor will pave the following streets (tentative schedule: Tuesday/Wednesday):
Fairview Ave. (Wilson Ave. to Hall Ave.)
York Ave. (Lowell Ave. to Hamden Ave.)
Standish Road (22 Standish Road to Bellevue Road, Bellevue Road to Locke Street)
Channing Street (Orchard Street to Mason Road)
Mason Road
Fitchburg Street (Waverley Ave. to Springfield Street
Worcester Street (Waverley Ave. to Springfield Street))
Marlboro Terrace
• Pavement Preservation —Permanent Patch (Lorusso Corporation)
o Contractor will continue permanent patch at various locations
• National Grid Gas Work
Utility companies are responsible for notifying residents prior to conducting work, but planned work
is listed below:
o Continue gas main replacement on Green Street
o Continue gas main replacement on N. Beacon Street at Alfred Road
o Continue gas main replacement on Francis Street
o Continue gas main replacement on Bradshaw Street, between Loomis Street and #50 Loomis
Street
