FOR RICHMOND POWER & LIGHT
May 18, 2015
The Board of Directors for Richmond Power& Light Plant met in regular session at 7:00 p.m. May 18,
2015, in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building in said City. Chairperson Quinn presided.
ROLL CALL:
Board members present were Doug Goss, Kelley Cruse-Nicholson, Bruce Wissel, Clayton Miller, Don
Winget, Larry Parker, Misty Hollis, Ron Oler and Phil Quinn.
Also present were: Mike Elstro, Transmission Distribution Superintendent; Walt Chidester, City Attorney;
Karen Chasteen, City Clerk; Police Chief Mark Connery; Greg Moore and first cadet class for Firefighting
101; Media; and, Sergeant-at-Arms.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Mr. Parker moved to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting held May 4, 2015, supported by Ms.
Hollis. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed.
APPROVAL OF BILLS,INVESTMENTS AND TRANSFERS:
Upon recommendation of the Finance Committee, Mr. Winget moved to approve claims for payment in
the amount of supported by Mr. Parker. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion passed.
STREET LIGHT COMMITTEE: None
OLD BUSINESS:
• AWARD BID ON A NEW 70-FOOT ARBORIST BUCKET TRUCK FOR TREE TRIMMING
CREWS
Mr. Miller moved to award this bid to Altec Industries, Inc., Creedmoor, N in the amount of One
Hundred Fifty Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety Two Dollars and zero cents ($115,992.00) which
reflect Forty One Thousand Dollars and zero cents($41,000.00)for a trade in, supported by Ms.
Cruse-Nicholson. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS: None
REPORT BY GENERAL MANAGER:
• Criteria for an Assistant Manager are progressing and will need analysis and approval from the
Employment Relations Committee soon. There will be a meeting of the Employee Relations
Committee on June 12, 2015 at 3 pm.
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:
• Mr. Baker is attending the APPA Lineman Rodeo and Conference.
