A RESOLUTION FROM THE CITY .OF CRESTVIEW, FLORIDA,
PROVIDING FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE OKALOOSA COUNTY
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS A PROPOSAL TO LEVY A HALF CENT
SALES TAX FOR A PERIOD OF FIVE YEARS TO FUND CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS.
WHEREAS, the City of Crestview has specific capital improvement projects which require
funding, and;
WHEREAS, the City of Crestview would prefer funding these capital improvement projects
from sales tax revenues rather than other general fund revenues like property taxes, and;
WHEREAS, the Okaloosa County Board of Commissioners can make the determination if the
funding of such capital improvement projects is desirable and in the best interest of the public,
and;
WHEREAS, the Okaloosa County Board of Commissioners is authorized by Ordinance to
submit such a proposition to a vote of the electors of Okaloosa County, and;
WHEREAS, the City of Crestview is prepared to submit specific purpose or purposes and set a
limited amount of time not to exceed five years to collect a limited amount of money to be
funded by the half cent sales tax in preparation of the ballot proposition;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE (CITY OF CRESTVIEW) as follows:
Section 1. The foregoing recitals are hereby ratified and incorporated herein.
Section 2_ The City of Crestview urges and supports the Okaloosa County Board of
Commissioners in passage of the proposed half cent sales tax for . period of five years.
