AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 109.5, TITLED ALL-SUBCODE
FEE OF THE CODE OF THE BOROUGH OF CARTERET
BE IT ORDAINED, by the Mayor and Council of he Borough of Carteret that
Section 109.5, Titled, "All Sub Code Fees of the Borough of Cartemt is hereby
amended as follows:
1) The Fee Schedule Section titled, "Certificate of Occupancy Fees" shall be
amended to read, with regards to Certificates of Occupancy, to read as follows:
"Ccrtificate of Occupancy 10% of Permit Fees or $25.00 minimum." The
balance of said section shall remain the same.
2) The Fee Schedule section titled "Flat Fees" shall be amended as to read with
regard to Construction Trailers as follows:
"Construction Trailer (Certificate of Occupancy, $25.00)"
All other portions of said section shall remain the same
3) There shall be added a new section designated section 109.5(A) which shall
read as follows
109.5 (A), The Construction Department shall establish rules and regulations and
the following fees am established for the retrieval of documents:
1. Persons requesting files which can be gathered in up to one-half (1/2) hour shall
be charged photocopy cost only.
-- 2. Thee shall be a research charge of $25.00 an hour (or portion thereof) in
addition to photocopying charges for flies which are stored outside the
Construction Office or require longer than thirty (30) minutes to retrieve.
3. Persons requesting files shall advise the Construction Department, in advance,
the amount of time they will require to have the file for review. A minimum of
two (2) days advance notice is requested.
4. The Construction Office can only provide copies that can be made on standard
copying machines located at the Construction Office. No files will be permitted to
be removed.

5. There shall be a required Information Request Form completed by all persons
seeking non "over the counter" easy information.
6. Such other rules as shall be established by the Construction Department
consistent with this resolution and assisting Borough Residents.

4) There shall be added a new section designated 109.5 (B), which shall read as
follows:
"109.5 (B), The fee for reinstatement of a lapsed permit in the same code cycle
shall be a fifty percent (50%) of the original fee."
"The fee for reinstatement of a lapsed permit in a new code cycle will be one
hundred percent (100%) of the current fee schedule."
5) There shall be added a new section designated 109.5 (C) which shall read as
follows:
"109.5 (C) (1) Senior Citizen, sixty five (65) years or older, shall receive a twenty-
five per cent (25%) reduction in Building Fees related to single family homes in
which they reside. In order to claim the reduced fee an applicant must
demonstrate proof of age and residency."
(2) "For the purposes of this section Building Fees shall be defined as Building,
Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Technical Sections."
(3) "All other Building and Zoning Fees will be calculated at non-reduced fees."
6) Them shall be added a new section designated 109.5D, which shall read:
"109.5D in order to determine estimated cost. Applicants shall submit to the
Construction Department cost data produced and executed by the architect or
engineer of record, a certified or recognized estimating firm, or by the
contractor."
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED this ordinance shall be advertised as prescribed
- by law.
