ORDINANCE NO. 1820-1960
AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 1472-1953, commonly known as the Zoning
Ordinance of Richmond, approved April 21, 1953•
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,Indiana:
SECTION 1, WHEREAS, Ordinance No, 1472-1953, commonly known as the Zoning
Ordinance of Richmond and the Zone Maps made a part thereof, designates and
describes as "S" Suburban, the following described territory located immediately
east of and adjacent to the City of Richmond., Indiana, and within the two mile
jurisdictional zoning area of said City, to vit:
Being a part of the Southwest Quarter of Section thirty-five (35), Township
Fourteen (14) North, Range One (1) West in Wayne Township, Wayne County, Indiana,
and being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at an established fence corner, said corner being three hundred eighty-
one (381) feet east of the southwest corner of the southwest quarter of saidV
section thirty-five (35), and runningthence, from said beginning point, north zero
(0) degrees and twenty-three (23) minutes west, along an established fence line,
eight -hundred twenty-seven and fifty hundredths (827.50) feet to a point in the
south right -of -gray line of United States Highway Forty (U.S. 40); thence eastwardly,
along said south right-of-way line, a total distance of one thousand two hundred
eleven and fifty-five hundredths (1211.55 ) feet to an established fence line;
thence south zero (0) degrees and trx7enty-three (23) minutes east,along said fence
line, eight hundred forty (840) feet to a point in the south line of said south-
west quarter; thence westwardly, along said south line, one thousand two hundred
eleven (1211) feet to the place of beginning, containing an area of twenty-three
and eighteen hundredths (23,18) acres, more or less,
?AREAS, it is the purpose and intention hereof to change the use of said
territory to " General Business District ".
NOfrT THEREFORE:
SECTION 2. It is hereby ordained that the use district in the Zoning Ordinance
and on the Zone Ma.p be, and the same is hereby changed covering the above described
territory to " General Business District " and that the said territory and the
use and area thereof be regulated accordingly.
SECTION 3, This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, approval by the Mayor, and publication as by law required.
