AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, BY IT'S MAYOR AND
ATTESTED BY IT'S CITY CLERK, TO SELL APPROXIMATELY 0,1377 ACRES, MORE OR LESS,
OWNED BY THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, AND USED BY THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC
LIGHT AND POiER PLANT.
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond, Indiana, is the owner of approximately 0.1377
acres., more or less, being a part of the Northwest one -quarter of Section
Thirty-six (36), Township Fourteen (1LH) North, Range One (1) West, State of
Indiana, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the center line of U.S. Highway Forty (40) as
now located (1947) and the intersection of the west section line of said
section thirty-six (36); thence north along said section line a distance
of one thousand four hundred fifty-nine and thirty-two hundredths (1459.32)
feet to a point; thence east on a line at right angles to west section
line a distance of one hundred twenty-five (125) feet to a point which is
the real place of beginning; thence north on a line parallel to west section
line a distance of one hundred (100) feet to a pipe stake; thence east on
a line at right angles to west section line a distance of sixty (60) feet
to a pipe stake; thence south on a line parallel to west section line a
distance of one hundred (100) feet to a pipe stake; thence west on a line
at right angles to west section line a distance of sixty (60) feet to place of
beginning. Containing one thousand three hundred seventy-seven tenthousandths
(0.1377) acres, more or less.
WHEREAS, pursuant to statute, said property has been appraised by three disinterested
free holders of said City, appointed by the Judge of the Wayne Circuit Court at
the request of the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana.
WHEREAS, said duly appointed appraisers placed the following value on said
property; to -wit, $500.00.
WHEREAS, Shute Concrete Products, Inc. have offered to purchase the aforementioned
described real estate for $500,00,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, that the Mayor shall be, and he is, hereby authorized and empowered
to make proper conveyance of said real estate in the name of the -City, attested
by the City Clerk and with the seal of the City affixed, to the said Shute
Concrete Products, Inc., for $500.00,
