AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY TO PURCHASE
CERTAIN REAL ESTATE FOR USE BY THE MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC LIGHT AND PO'TER PLANT
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW ILDIAnk .. MICHIGAN ELECTRIC SUB -STATION.
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City of Richmond, Indiana, to purchase the
following described real estate for the purpose of locating a sub -.station
for inter. -connection facilities with the Indiana. -Michigan Electric Company,
to wit:
Parcel No. 1 :
Being a part of the west fractional half of Section 12, Township 13 North,
Range 2 West, of the First Principal Meridian, Wayne Township, Wayne County,
State of Indiana, known as Parcels "A" to "D" inclusive as shown on survey
plat by Phillip Thornburg, Indiana Registered Land Survey +4555 and being
more particularly described as follows:
Assuming the Greenville Treaty Line to have a bearing North 11 degrees 30
Minutes East; thence commencing at a marked stone on said Treaty Line, said stone
marking the intersection of said Treaty Line and the centerline of Test Road
if the same were extended westerly; thence South 84 degrees 08 minutes East,
664.41 ft. to an iron in the centerline of Test Road marking the southwest
corner of the aforementioned Parcel "A" and the true place of beginning of the -
land hereby described; thence North 19 degrees 41 minutes 30 seconds East 515.48
feet; measured on and along the westerly side of the aforesaid Parcels "A" to
"D" to an iron marking the northwesterly corner of Parcel "D"; thence South
70 degrees 31 minutes 30 seconds East 270 ft., measured on and along the
northerly side of the aforesaid Parcel "D" to an iron in the centerline of
Salisbury Road; thence south 19 degrees 41 minutes 30 seconds West 450,10. ft.
to an iron marking the intersections of said Test Road and Salisbury Roads,
and the southeast corner of the aforesaid Parcel "A"; thence North 84 degrees
08 minutes West 277.89 ft. to the aforesaid iron marking the true place of beg-
inning of the above described lands. Containing 2.99 acres subject to the legal
highway and the easterly and southerly sides thereof, and an easement along the
westerly side thereof. Said Parcel No. 1 having the purchase price of $4,000.00
thereon,
Parcel No. 2 :
Being a part of the west fractional half of Section 12 and a part of the fraction-1
al Section 11 of Township 13 North, Range 2 West, First Principal Meridian, Wayne
Township, Wayne County, State of Indiana, and being more particularly described
as follows:
Assuming the Greenville Treaty Line to have a bearing North 11 degrees 30
minutes East; thence commencing at a marked stone on said Treaty Line, said stone
marking the intersection of said Treaty Line and the centerline of Test Road if
the same were extended westerly; thence South 84 degrees 08 minutes East 664.41
feet to an iron in the centerline of Test Road and to the true place of beginning
of the land hereby described; thence North 19 degrees 41 minutes 30 seconds East,
515.48 feet to an iron; thence North 84 degrees 08 minutes West, 560 feet measured
on a line parallel to the centerline of Test Road to an iron; thence South 5
degrees 52 minutes West, 500.52 feet to an iron in the centerline of Test Road;
thence South 84 degrees 08-minutes East, 376.91 feet to an iron and to the true
place of beginning. Containing 5.038 acres, subject to the legal highway along
the south side thereof. Said parcel No. 2 having a purchase price of $3,400.00
thereon.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after itts passage,
and approval of the Mayor of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
PASSED by the Common Council of the City -of Richmond, Indiana, this ,.�'r day of
