The proposal from Najarian Associates for planning/engineering services in regard to Phase 4, Geoteclmical/Struchnal Investigation, Block 102, Lots 5.01 & 5.02 in the Borough at a total cost not to exceed $20,000.00 is hereby approved. ' 2. This action is approved as an award of a professional services contract pursuant to N.J.S.A 40A:11- 5(1)(a) in accordance with the Borough's Fair and Open Process as authorized by law. 3. DuPont, PE, PP, CME on Thursday February 12, 2015 to review the concept plan relative to the above referenced matter. As such it was agreed upon that Najarian Associates would submit Phase 3 & 4 for the Borough's consideration and approval to continue with the Project. Based on this T.O. Najarian Associates, Inc. (Najarian Associates) is pleased to submit this proposal for Phase 3 & 4 for the walkway as defined below: P l 3: Hazardous Waste Investigation & HASP Preparation: e �{a�S V5 M Review of existing data along the shoreline indicates soil contamination. As the proposed y Q boardwalk entails construction of piles/piers within these soils, a Health & Safety Plan S 1d `y (HASP) is required. The HASP must identify potential contamination that would be yl exposed to workers during construction and post - construction of the project. Accordingly, p the existing sampling information should be supplemented by collecting approximately five (5) soil samples for analysis of TCL/TAL + 30. This information will be � �,,,�1 incorporated into the HASP that will be prepared for the project. CrA ..Y , PHASE 4: Geotechnient/Structural Investigation a. A Geotechnical Investigation will be performed along the route of the proposed walkway to determine the appropriate foundation for the walkway. Soil Borings are proposed to be taken every 500' along the proposed walkway alignment and at critical locations such as the proposed pedestrian bridge crossing. Soil classification and bearing capacities will be detennined. The design /permitting ofa new pier are not Included In this task. C. Deliverables for this task will include a Geotechnical Report and a Structural Investigation Report. Both of these reports will be prepared by sub - consultants, under the direction of Najarian Associates.
