ARTICLES 1 THROUGH 19
Rezoning of property located at 309 N. JOLIET ROAD
WHEREAS, a public hearing was duly advertised and held an the amendment
to said Chapter known as the Village of Plainfield Zoning Ordinance (Ordinance No.
1604) of said Village of Plainfield as hereinafter set forth; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Plainfield has heretofore
filed a report of its acts and doings in the premises and its recommendation that the
petition for the zoning of the real estate hereinafter described be zoned B-1,
Neighborhood Convenience Center District under said Chapter 9, Articles 1 through
19, be granted; and
WHEREAS, we believe that the highest and best use of the real estate
hereinafter described is for uses permitted in an B-1, Neighborhood Convenience
Center District under said Chapter 9, Articles 1 through 19; and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Plainfield that the zoning of the real estate hereinafter described should be
rezoned and classified as B-1, Neighborhood Convenience Center District under said
Zoning Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, as
follows:
Sec. 1: Territor Described. That the following tract of land, to wit:
LOT 1 IN JONES RESUBDIVISION BEING DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
THAT PART OF LOT 2 IN BLOCK 4, IN ELIHU CORBIN'S ADDITION TO THE
VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT THEREOF RECORDED
JANUARY 20, 1853, IN BOOK "Z", PAGES 554 AND 555 AS DOCUMENT NO.
15068, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: BEGINNING AT THE NORTHWESTERLY
CORNER OF LOT 2, IN BLOCK 4, IN SAID ELIHU CORBIN'S ADDITION TO THE
VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, RUNNING THENCE NORTHEASTERLY ON THE
NORTHERLY LINE OF SAID LOT 2, A DISTANCE OF 140 FEET, THENCE
SOUTHEASTERLY 66 FEET, THENCE SOUTHWESTERLY 140 FEET ON A LINE
PARALLEL WITH THE NORTHERLY LINE OF SAID LOT 2, THENCE
NORTHWESTERLY 66 FEET TO THE PLACE OF BEGINNING; ALSO THE
SOUTHEASTERLY HALF OF VACATED ALLEY LYING NORTHWESTERLY OF AND
ADJOINING THE SOUTHWESTERLY 140 FEET OF LOT 2, BLOCK 4, IN SAID
ELIHU CORBW'S ADDITION TO THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD; ALSO LOT 6,
EXCEPTING THEREFROM THE NORTH 66 FEET THEREOF, AND ALL OF LOT 7,
BOTH IN BLOCK 3 IN SAID ELIHU CORBIN'S ADDITION TO THE VILLAGE OF
PLAINFIELD; ALSO A STRIP OF LAND 151.75 FEET IN LENGTH FORMERLY USE^
FOR AN ALLEY, SOUTH OF SAID LOT 7 IN BLOCK 3 AND NORTH OF LOT 1 IN
BLOCK 4, EXCEPTING THEREFROM THE SOUTH 14 FEET THEREOF, ALL IN
SAID ELIHU CORBIN'S ADDITION TO THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD; ALSO THE
SOUTH 14 FEET OF A STRIP OF LAND 151.75 FEET IN LENGTH FORMERLY
USED FOR AN ALLEY, SOUTH OF LOT 7, BLOCK 3 AND NORTH OF LOT 1
BLOCK 4, IN SAID ELIHU CORBIN'S ADDITION TO THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD;
ALSO LOT 1, BLOCK 4, IN SAID ELIHU CORBIN'S ADDITION TO THE VILLAGE OF
PLAINFIELD; ALSO THE NORTHWESTERLY HALF OF THE VACATED ALLEY
LYING SOUTHEAST AND ADJOINING LOT 1 IN SAID BLOCK 4 ALL BEING
SITUATED IN THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 15, IN TOWNSHIP 36
NORTH AND IN RANGE 9 EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, SITUATED
IN THE VILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD, WILL COUNTY, ILLWOIS.
which said tract of land was previously zoned R-1, Overlay District, is now
classified and zoned as B-1, Neighborhood Convenience Center District under
said Chapter 9, Articles 1 through 19 (Ordinance No. 1604) and is hereby
added to and made a part of the B-1, Neighborhood Convenience Center
District under said Chapter 9, Articles 1 through 19.
Sec. 2: If Part Invalid. The invalidity of any part or section hereof shall not effect the
validity of the remainder hereof.
Sec. 3: This Ordinance shall be numbered as Ordinance No. 1743
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval as required by law.
