.AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SEOTION' 1 OF ORDINANCE -NO. 963-1930 REQUIRING THE -
OVNERS OF REAL ESTATE IN THE CITY OF RICHMOND:, TO CUT AND REMOVE WEEDS
AND OTHER RANK..VEGETATION GROWING THEREON; PROVIDING IN CASE OF THEIR
FAILURE, FOR SUCH�CUTTING AND REMOVAL BY THE CITY, AND CONSTITUTING A
LIEN UPON THE REAL ESTATE FOR THE COST THEREOF,-AND'PROVIDING FOR ITS
COLLECTION AND;REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN,CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF.'.RICHMOND, WAYNE
COUNTY, INDIANA:
SECTION ,1.
That Section•l of Ordinance No. 963-1930 be amended to,read.
as follows
"That the owners-6f lots; lands and parcels,. of ground
within the corporate limits -of the said City of Richmond are
hereby required, between the fifteenth'(15th) day -of -June and
the thirty-first (31st) -day of October of each year:, ' to cut,
remove and 'keep ,under control at all times during the,above.
period all weeds., grasses and, all other rank vegetation grow- _
ing on.their:-said :premises and on.the alleys and street parks
adjacent thereto, and if such owner shall fail to cut and
remove such. weeds and vegetation as',provided herein within
five'(5) days after notification of the .violation of this
ordinance. by the Board of Public. 'Workts 'and. Safety, then said
City shall -,-have theright to cut and.'remove, or to cause to be
cut and removed the -same,. and charge the cost thereof against_
the owner so failing -to cut -and remove such °weeds and other
rank vegetation, ...and said cost together with the cost of-
collect-ing the same.' -shall -be and constitute•a lien upon the real estate
from which.such weeds and vegetation"are cut: and removed."'
SECTION.2.
This Ordinance shall be• in full force. and effect from and after
its passage by Council, approval., -.by the,Mayor, and -publication as is re-
quired by law.
