PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR
ENGINEERING SERVICES
'0, HEREAS, there exists a need for professional services to pertbrm engineering
sc~xices in connection with the Linden Street Internal Investigation Project; and
k~, IIEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A.40A: 11-5 (1)(a) professional services are exempt
the requirements of competitive bidding; and
VfH EREAS, the Local Finance Officer has certified that funds are available.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the
!k~rough of Carteret does hereby approve the appointment of Killam Associates at
:, maximum cost not to exceed $3,500.00 billable as per attached contract.
~t1'~ I'1' FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Borough Clerk are hereby
at~lhorized to execute said contract.
IS FURTHER RESOLVED that the contract is awarded without competitive
!lids in accordance with NJ.SA 40A: 11-5(1)(a) due to the specialized nature of
services provided.
I ~' IS FURTHER RESOLVED that a notice of this action shall be published in the
N{m~e News Tribune on March 9, 1999.

and certified as a true copy of the
