AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL, ACCEPTANCE,
AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
WAYNE COUNTY, INDIANA, FOUNDATION
WHEREAS, In accordance with Indiana Code (IC) 36-1-4-10, a municipality may execute any
documents necessary to receive money from the state or federal government or any other
source, and said documents are prepared and executed by the City executive
administration, provided that the Common Council of the City of Richmond as the
legislative body of the City approves an ordinance for the appropriation of any monies
received in accordance with IC 36-4-6-18; and
WHEREAS, The Wayne County Foundation has grant funding available through its "Improving
Quality of Life" grant program, and if said funds are awarded to the City, the Parks
Department wishes to use the grant to fund the 2012 Summer Concert Series; and
WHEREAS, There is a local match of Two Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($2,600.00) required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana,
as follows:
The City of Richmond Department of Parks and Recreation has submitted or will submit, as
authorized by IC 36-1-4-10, a grant application to the Wayne County Foundation.
2. The City of Richmond Department of Parks and Recreation is authorized to accept said
grant funding in an amount up to Five Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($5,000.00).
The local match of Two Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($2,600.00) in -kind will be
supplied by the Richmond Parks Department budget.
4. Said funds, if awarded, shall be appropriated to fund the 2012 Summer Concert Series.
Passed and adopted this _16th _ day of April 2012, by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana.
