ORDINANCE NO. 1955
AN ORDINANCE TO ANNEX TO THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, CERTAIN TERRITORY
CONTIGUOUS THERETO, DESCRIBING THE SAME, PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION THEREOF
AND FIXING THE TI14E WHEN THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, WAYNE
COUNTY, INDIANA.
SECTION 1. That the following described territory be annexed to and
declared to be part of said City of Richmond, Indiana:
A part of the Partition Plat of the Samuel Burgess Estate located in
the Southwest Quarter of Section 5, Township 13 North, Range 1 West as
recorded in Plat Book 1, Page 403 in the Recorder's Office of Wayne County,
Indiana, the tract of land to be hereby annexed being described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the present westerly and southerly
corporation lines of said City in the Center line of Abington Pike and being on
the west line of Lot No. 32 of said Partition Plat and running thence south
140-30' (fourteen degrees`and thirty minutes) west, along the centerline of
said Abington Pike to a point three hundred eighty five and fifty seven hundredths
(385.57) feet from the northwest corner of said lot No. 32;
thence south 750-30' (seventy five degrees and thirty minutes) east to the
easterly line of said Lot No. 32;
thence north 260-45' (twenty six degrees and forty five minutes) east along
the easterly line of said Lot No. 32 to the southwest corner of Lot No. 1 of
said Partitition Plat;
thence southeastwardly., along the southerly line of said Lot No. 1 to the
southeast corner of said Lot No. 1, which corner is on the westerly present
corporation line of said City;
thence northea_stwardly, along the southeasterly line of said Lot No. 1 and
being the westerly present corporation line of said City to the southeast corner
of said Lot No. 1;
thence north 420(forty;two degrees) west, along the northeasterly line of
said Lot No. 1 and being the westerly present corporation line of said City to
an angle in the said resent corporation line;
thence north 40 (four degrees) east, along the said present westerly
corporation line and being the easterly line of said Lot No. 32 to an angle in
said present corporation line;
thence north 750-30' (seventy five degrees and thirty minutes) west, along
the present southerly corporation line of said City, to the place of beginning.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval by the Mayor and publication as by law required.
