AN ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 1472-1953, commonly known as the
Zoning Ordinance of Richmond, approved April 21, 1953.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana;
SECTION 1. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1472-1953 commonly known as the
Zoning Ordinance of Richmond and the Zone Maps made a part thereof, designates
and describes as "B" Residential District, the following described territory
in said City of Richmond, Wayne County, State of Indiana, to -wit:
All the territory included in the McFarland Addition being the
territory on the north side of West Main Street from the west
end of present "Local Business District" west of West 18th .Street
to the west corporate line of said City and extending from north
line of West Main Street north to first east -west alley; the
territory on the south side of West Main Street from the west end
_. of:pesent "Local Business District" west of West 18th Street to
west corporate line of said City and extending from south line
of West Main Street south two hundred seventy five (275) feet, and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1472-1953 commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance
of Richmond and the Zone Maps.made a part thereof, designates and describes
as Suburban District" the following described territory in the "Jurisdictional
Area" beyond the corporate limits of said City, in Wayne County, State of
Indiana, to -wit:
Between the west corporate line of said City and a line five hundred
twenty three (523) feet west of and parallel thereto and extending
north and south of north and south lines of West Main Street one
hundred forty five (145) feet and two hundred seventy five (275)
feet respectively.
WHEREAS, it is the purpose and intention hereof to change the use
of said territories to "Focal Business District."
NOW THEREFORE:
SECTION 2. It is hereby ordained that the use district in the Zoning
Ordinance and on the Zone Maps be, and same oft hereby changed covering the
above described territories to "Local Business District" and that the said
territories and use and area thereof be regulated accordingly.
SECTION 3, This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval by the Mayor, and publication as by law required.
