AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1325-1947, "AN ORDINANCE AS AMENDED
PROHIBITING HOUSE CARS OR TRAILERS BEING LOCATED UPON ANY LOT OR PARCEL
OF GROUND WITHIN THE CITY EXCEPT IN AN AUTHORIZED TOURIST CAMP: PREVENTING
THE USE OF HOUSE CARS FOR LIVING OR SLEEPING 'QUARTERS EXCEPT WHEN LOCATED
IN A TOURIST CAMP; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE:
PROVIDING THAT THE INVALIDITY OF ANY PORTION OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL NOT
INVALIDATE THE REMAINDER: AND PROVIDING FOR THE TAKING EFFECT THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana:
Section 1. That Section No. 2 of Ordinance No. 1325-1947 be amended to
read as follows:
No trailer camp shall, after the passage of this Ordinance, be constructed
within the City Limits of Richmond, Indiana, unless the same be in a location
zoned for business under the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance.o£ the City
of Richmond as amended and shall have in front thereof a yard which shall extend
completely across that portion of the camp which faces upon a public street or
highway, and there shall be no obstruction in -said yard for a distance of
forty (40) feet from the inside line of the sidewalk or sidewalks abutting said
street or streets, or the set -back line established for houses on the same
street or streets, on which said camp is situated, or as established in adjacent
sub -division, whichever is the greater; and No "trailer", "house car"!, "auto-
mobile" or any structure mounted on wheels, used for human habitation shall
be placed or located on any lot or parcel of ground within the City except in
an authorized Tourist Camp.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval by the Mayor, and publication according to law.
