The ordinance establishes a moratori- um on electronic and digital signs in an zoning districts in the city. The intent of the moratorium is to give the city an op- portunity to study its ordinances in light of the new digital sign technology which has been used recently in billboards and other signs and which may cause a safety hazard to the driving public. The interim ordinance also places a morato- rium on off -premise signs. The morato- rium is scheduled to last for one year from the effective date of this ordinance.
