HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-08-2021 THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA, APRIL 8,2021 The Board of Public Works and Safety of the City of Richmond, Indiana, met at 5:00 P.M., Thursday, April 8, 2020, in the Hutton Community Room at the Municipal Building, 50 North 5th Street, Richmond, Indiana. CALL TO ORDER President Robinson called the meeting to order and the following business was conducted: ROLL CALL Board members present were: Vicki Robinson, Emily Palmer and Matt Evans. Also in attendance were Kim Vessels,Assistant City Attorney; Monica Burns,Deputy City Clerk; Lieutenant Donnie Benedict; Doug Gardner, Chief of Fire Protection; Melissa Vance and Roxie Deer, Chamber of Commerce; Jackie Allen; Aydon Stevens; and, Media via Zoom. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ms.Palmer moved to approve the minutes of April 1, 2021, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Claims for Payment for April 9, 2021 in the amount of One Hundred Fifty Six Thousand Five Hundred Twenty Eight Dollars and sixty nine cents ($156,528.69), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT Mr. Evans moved to approve the Payroll Claims for Payment for April 9, 2021 in the amount of Seven Hundred Thirty Eight Thousand Eight Hundred Forty Five Dollars and sixty seven cents ($738,845.67), supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. PAYROLL CLAIMS FOR PAYMENT FOR PENSION -None REQUESTS • NEW HANDICAP 1338 Harris Street Board of Works Minutes April 8,2021 Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion failed. Ms. Palmer moved to deny the request, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. • STREET CLOSURE 23rd Annual Girls INC. 5K May 15, 2021 they are requesting traffic control by RPD during the beginning of the Race. The event starts at 800 a.m. with participants arriving at 6:45 a.m. Sylvan Nook will be briefly shut down for 20 minutes at the beginning of the race. Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. Chamber of Commerce Flavor of Wayne Co On May 21, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m.they are requesting to block the alley on the South side of the parking garage to limit traffic throughout the night and to provide a safe Walking space for guest to enter the parking garage. The rain date for this event is May 22, 2021. Mr.Evans moved to approve contingent that all proper documents are submitted,supported by Ms. Palmer. Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried. Board of Works Minutes April 8,2021 Family&Friends Day in honor of Antwone Tremell Carpenter On May 29, 2021 they are requesting a street closure at the corner on North 15th Street "H" Street to North 16th Street from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.Family lives at 1505 North"H" Street where they will fellowship. Ms. Palmer moved to approve, supported by Mr. Evans. Upon a vote viva voce, the motion carried. BID OPENINGS -None BID AWARDS -None CONTRACTS -None CHANGE ORDERS • CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 TO CONTRACT NO. 103-2020 — BRUMBAUGH CONSTRUCTION, INC Because of some unforeseen changes needed during the building of the new fire training facility there are several changes that need to be made. Those changes are as follows: Extension of sanitary sewer lines Electrical changes for IT equipment Water tap fee for domestic water Switching stainless steel sinks to solid surface sinks Extend concrete sidewalks An increased amount of$9,611.17 Mr. Evans moved to approve, supported by Ms. Palmer.Upon a vote viva voce,the motion carried.
