A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AWARDING
A CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT TO BLACK & VEATCH CORPORATION
TO PREPARE WATER AND SEWER RATES STUDIES AT A COST NOT-TO-
EXCEED $40,000
WHEREAS, the City is responsible for providing water service and maintaining a
sanitary sewer system; and
WHEREAS, Proposition 218 contains substantive provisions concerning property
related fees and charges; and
WHEREAS, a comprehensive water and sewer rate study is necessary to meet
the substantive requirements of Proposition 218; and
WHEREAS, the City issued a Request for Proposals and received six proposals
prior to the deadline; and
WHEREAS, the Black & Veatch Corporation demonstrated extensive knowledge
of municipal utility operations, finances and experienced ratemaking in their written
proposal and interview.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council authorizes the Mayor to execute a Consulting
Services Agreement between the City and Black & Veatch Corporation at a not-to-
exceed cost of $40,000 in a form approved by the City Attorney.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
